How Does Leech Protection Work?

Leech Protection is a security feature designed to prevent users from sharing their login credentials with others. It helps protect restricted areas of your website by monitoring how many times a user account logs in within a specific time period.

What Leech Protection Does

When Leech Protection is enabled, it sets a maximum number of allowed logins for each user within a set time limit, usually around two hours. If a user exceeds this limit, the system assumes that the login details may have been shared with multiple people.

As soon as this unusual activity is detected, the system automatically blocks the user account to prevent potential misuse.

Why Leech Protection Is Important

Leech Protection helps you:

  • Prevent multiple users from accessing protected areas using a single login

  • Stop password sharing among members

  • Maintain security for paid or private content

  • Protect bandwidth and server resources

  • Reduce the risk of unauthorised access

What Happens When the Limit Is Reached

If the number of logins goes beyond the allowed limit:

  • The account is flagged for suspicious activity

  • Access is blocked immediately

  • You can review the logs from your control panel

  • You may reset or unblock the user after verification
