How To Set domain.com/webmail To mail.domain.com

As free emails are provided with many web hosting packages right from cPanel shared hosting to Dedicated Server Hosting, many webmasters prefer to use their emails which are created at their own website with their own domain name, this also provides them a little bit extra security. Following is the process of redirection of ‘yourdomain.com/webmail’ to ‘mail.yourdomain.com’

  • Login in your cpanel
  • You will find ‘Subdomains’ under ‘Domains’, click on it
  • Now you will find ‘Create a Subdomain’ with name mail.domain.com
  • Now click on ”Manage Redirection’ In Subdomain section.
  • Type ‘mail.yourdomain.com’ in the text box, this will redirect yourdomain.com/webmail to your desired mail.domain.com
  • Click on Save and exit.

Things To Consider Before Setting Up A Webhosting Account.

It is necessary to to set up a website hosting account before making a website live on all over the Internet. Hosting manages is the utility which is used for the same purpose. Hosting manage helps you not only for setting up a hosting account but also to upload you ready websites data on your web server account.

Following is the description on using hosting manager to set up your hosting account.

You should have your own domain name before starting to set up your hosting account.

‘A record’ is to be changed in DNS zone file so that it can use the IP address for the account created. This IP address will be displayed on Hosting manager page. You can ask more information about this to the registrar from which you have purchased your domain name.

Follow these steps to set up a new hosting account.

  • Log in to your account of hosting manager

  • Select ‘Hosting Account List’ which can be found under ‘Hosting & Email’

  • Click on Setup Account which right next to ‘hosting account you want to modify’.

  • Here you comes to account setup page, type of select your wanted domain name for the hosting account.

  • Finally you have two options as if you want your website to use front page then you need to click Install and if you want your website to be Java enable then you should click Setup and make it Java enabled.

ICANN rules for Domain Transfer Rejections.

A transfer may be rejected for the following reasons only:

  • Evidence of fraud

  • UDRP – Uniform Domain Name Dispute Resolution Policy Action.

  • Court order by a court of competent jurisdiction

  • Reasonable dispute over the identity of the Registrant or Administrative contact

  • No payment for a previous registration period (including credit card charge-backs) if the domain name is past its expiration date or for previous or current registration periods if the domain name has not yet expired.

  • In all such cases, however, the domain name must be put into “Registrar Hold” status by the registrar prior to the denial of transfer

  • Express written objection to the transfer from the Administrative contact – email, fax, paper document.

  • The domain name is in Registrar Lock status.

  • The domain name is in the first 60 days of an initial registration period.

Domain Transfer May Not Be Denied for any of the Following Reasons:

* Nonpayment for a pending or future registration period
* No response from the registrant or administrative contact
* Domain name in Registrar unlock status
* Domain name Older than 60 days of registration
