You can host adult content websites on our servers but see to it that your content remains legal as well as no pornography. Secondly, to activate shell access we will need to migrate your account to the server where we provide shell access.

Which kind of services are restricted on VPS plans ?

February 18th, 2009 Nilesh Comments off

VPS hosting packages are special hosting packages where you would be getting root access for your Linux server and Administrative RDP access for Windows VPS. You can consider VPS Hosting packages as cheaper and affordable option for dedicated servers.

On your VPS server you can install all required applications, scripts, software as if you are using Dedicated servers but there are limitations for using VPS such as you are not allowed to run anonymous proxies, Bit torrent websites, private IRC services on your VPS Hosting package.

Having such a big unit requires proper care and precautions. We have sophisticated fire safeguard system prevents fires from scattering in the unlikely event. Wet Risers set in, at every square position. FM-200 system is installed.

In the unlikely incident of a power outage from local power network, power systems are planned to run continuously with the help of two 2000KW auto-switched power generators and centralized UPS systems. Do you oversell, what’s your max capacity, and how many people are already on the server?

May 6th, 2008 Nilesh No comments

No, we do not oversell on our servers. All of our VPS plans come with guaranteed RAM, disk space and CPU resources. We maintain fast performances to your servers as well as uptime for your web sites. Number of clients per server / node depends on the type of plan. As we setup high end configured nodes, our servers has a capacity to hold a large number of clients. On the other hand our VPS team make decisions for the number in favor of customers considering there protection.

What are MIME types?

April 26th, 2008 Nilesh Comments off

Multipurpose Internet Mail Extensions (MIME) is an Internet Standard that extends the format of e-mail to support text in character sets other than US-ASCII; non-text attachments; multi-part message bodies and header information in non-ASCII character sets. Virtually all human-written Internet e-mail and a fairly large proportion of automated e-mail is transmitted via SMTP in MIME format. Internet e-mail is so closely associated with the SMTP and MIME standards that it is sometimes called SMTP/MIME e-mail.

MIME Types tell browsers how to handle specific file extensions. For example, the text/html MIME Types equates to .htm, .html, and .shtml extensions on most servers, telling your browser to interpret all files with those extensions as HTML files. You can alter or add new MIME Types specifically for your site (Note: You cannot alter the system defined MIME Types values). MIME Types are often used to handle new technologies as they appear. When WAP technology first appeared, no one had these extensions set up on their server. With MIME Types, however, you could have set it up yourself and began serving WAP pages immediately.

What are nameservers?

April 26th, 2008 Nilesh No comments

Name servers are setup to maintain host addresses for each sub-domain or zone within the name space as well as to maintain the address of root name server. Using recursive, queries or referring clients to other servers, a DNS server is capable of resolving the IP address for any host in the Internet. What is an MX record?

April 26th, 2008 Nilesh Comments off

The record that specifies the mail servers that handle email for your domain is a (Mail Exchange) MX record. It is a part of the several other network records which define where a particular domain name will resolve from. . By default, all of the email for your domain is handled by Dotnoc’s mail server. You can, however, choose to have another mail server handle your email. You can select a mail server such as Register.com or you can specify an Exchange, Novell or other in-house mail server. If your organization has multiple mail servers (such as a primary and secondary server) you can specify multiple IP addresses and set the priority for each.
