Default Ways to prevent spam.

I know one way to prevent spam:

Through Microsoft Outlook express.

A great tip to help filter out important e-mails is to create a rule that moves all e-mail from individuals in your address book to a new folder and/or only keep e-mail from users who are listed in your address book. Below is an example of how Microsoft Outlook users can setup this type of rule.

Note: Users using Microsoft Outlook must download the Rules Wizard before it can be used. The Rules Wizard can be downloaded from our download updates page.

1. Open Microsoft Outlook
2. Click Tools and then Rules Wizard.
3. In the Rules Wizard window click the New button.
4. Select "Check messages when they arrive" and click Next.
5. Select "from people or distribution list"
6. Click the "people or distribution list" link.
7. Either add each individual person or a distribution list and click Ok.
8. Click Next
9. Then choose "move it to the specified folder"
10. Specify the folder.
11. Click Finish.

I have one more...
SPF is one method that can be used to stop spam from being sent using unauthorized domain names. However, it should be noted that SPF only stops the spammer from forging the “From” field in the e-mail and does not stop the spammer from sending e-mails from a domain in which it is a member.

I have given some important tips to avoid spam.

1. Never allow your email address to be posted or listed on a publicly available web page.
2. Never ask to be removed or attempt to unsubscribe from a spammer's list
3. Never open or read junk emai.
4. Avoid contests, special offers, free offers, and chances to win -- anything
5 .Never post to a newsgroup or email list using your private email address
6. If you are a contact for a registered domain, do no list your private email address, instead use a generic common mailbox for this purpose
7. Guard your computer against trojan spyware software
8. Use a free Yahoo or Hotmail account as your public email address
9. If the junk mail level has gotten out of hand in your Inbox, consider changing your email address

It is we who gives invitation to the spam, we generally in hurry don't see many options carefully and create problems for ourselves.

Care taken about the e-mail address and instant messengers:

1. Only share your primary e-mail address with people you know.
2. Set up an e-mail address dedicated solely to Web transactions.
3. Create an e-mail name that's tough to crack.
4. Disguise your e-mail address when you post it to a newsgroup, chat room, bulletin board, or other public Web page.
5. Watch out for pre-checked boxes.
