Subdomain Redirect

Subdomain's are automatically redirected when the redirect is set for the main domain.How to stop the subdomains from redirecting ?

Maybe it can be done with wildcard DNS.

The subdomains redirecting can be stopped by making changes in the .htaccess file. Remove the redirection set in .htaccess file.

I am just asking because I am learning. What are the reasons you would want to stop your subdomain from redirecting? Are there any specific reasons this would be beneficial?
