Have you try this

Use tomcat via "localhost". If that doesn't work try the address of 127.0.0.1.

I tried to access [url=http://localhost:8080] in my browser I get the following error-message:

How was Tomcat installed?

How are you starting (or trying to start) Tomcat?

Are you trying to do this through an IDE like Netbeans or Eclipse?

Default Reinstall

Sometimes a re installation is the best thing to do any way. I find sometimes when i search too long for a problem I only get a few attempts to fix it. By the 4th or 5th thing I try I find I am only making things worse!
