Default Windows XP machine booting slow

Some XP machines take more than 1 minute to boot completely when they are connected to a network. Some time system may freeze after logging in.
Turning off "file and printer sharing" may help to improve the performance with following steps :-

1] On you local XP machine right click on Network Places and select Properties,
2] Right click on Ethernet Adapter connection and select Properties,
3] Uncheck "File and Printer Sharing for Microsoft Networks" and hit Ok.

Thats it. This should help you to fix this Windows XP booting problem
